Bijou’s interest in code and the way it translates to results started in a high school Python programming class; from there, he went on to get his Associates degree in computer science at Moorpark College and then his Bachelor’s at Cal Poly Pomona, as well as a minor in data science. Along the way, he was exposed to building full stack applications, different methods of data processing, machine learning and artificial intelligence, as well as system architecture for applications and satellite mission design.
Throughout his education, Bijou cultivated his skills as a communicator and problem solver, gaining a knack for finding efficient and creative solutions to whatever challenges his team might face. He prides himself on his ability to translate requirements into actionable design plans, and knows that mutual respect and clear communication between client and provider are the keys to maintaining the relationship.
Outside of his professional work, Bijou’s passion lies in technology as well; he enjoys learning about its advancements and the actual math behind machine learning and how LLMs function. He is interested to see how this technology will impact the future.
He leads an active lifestyle, whether that be hiking, martial arts, or lifting weights. Music is also a big part of his life; he began playing trumpet from a young age and then later went on to teach himself guitar and piano; he is always looking to learn more, both in work and play. When talking it easy, he turns to stories - be it from a book or otherwise, a good story “is something that [he] probably couldn't live without.”
